The pretty routine Swords and Sandals gunman, and mythical creatures spotted in the trailer are all for the name of the discovery, and any stories portrayed, or things that can be clearly seen at a distance. What remained rather dark film with a lot of fighting, pitched awkwardly on a level too graphic for family viewing, and not enough graphics for those blood and dismemberment.There an F word like – unnecessary and out of place. Dwayne Johnson makes this material well – it looks good, has a huge physical presence, even when part of the slightly darker than usual, it is still very nice. The supporting cast is pretty good – it was interesting to see Rufus Sewell plays a positive hero this time (kind of like a young Ian McShane, although McShane in the film, with all the best moments of humor), and John Hurt to play on both sides of the spectrum, like the meek and scenery-chewing.I – it is certainly much better than the previous years’ Hercules – but I felt it was a missed opportunity, they promised me a sample, and then save them didnt!
