How to fix Dying Light and Grim Fandango's PS4 download bug
A step-by-step guide requires users to go into the console's Settings, then within the PSN area, choose to Restore Licences. From there, games will be available to download properly from the Library area.
Updated story (January 29): Sony has released a statement regarding the PS4 download bug, stating the fix is a "matter of priority".
"SCEE are aware that some people are experiencing issues following purchasing Dying Light on the PlayStation Store," said a spokesperson to Digital Spy.
"Our engineers are working on resolving this issue as a matter of priority and will provide an update as soon as possible."
Original story: Downloadable games on PS4 this week - including new releases Dying Light and Grim Fandango Remastered - are experiencing a bug where they cannot be downloaded properly.
Ordered games will be added to a user's Library and seemingly available to download from the PS Store, and although it prompts the user to start the game, it will provide an error message, saying the application cannot be found.
The solution is to go to the PlayStation Store from another device - such as the official companion app on a mobile device - then go to the purchased game, add it to the download queue and it will begin downloading on the connected console.
The same fix is said to work on downloadable content.
The error occurs because the console believes the content is already available on the console, but it hasn't started to download at all, according to users.
Sony has yet to officially comment on the issue, but community staff have said that the issue has been identified and a fix is on the way.
