Send a receipt to a customer
Generate a receipt to view invoice payments received from a customer, or send a copy to your customer.
View a receipt
- (Optional) Create a standard branding theme for your receipts.
- Find and open a fully or partly paid invoice.
- Click the Payment link.
- Click Options and select View Receipt (PDF).
Select your branding theme.
If you haven’t set up a standard branding theme, your receipt will print on an unbranded theme.
- Click OK.
- Open the downloaded PDF file and check it to see if the layout is correct.
To view a receipt for an invoice paid in a batch deposit, follow the steps below to email it. Instead of sending it to your customers, remove each recipient and send a copy to yourself.
Email a receipt
- (Optional) Create a standard branding theme for your receipts.
- Find and open a fully or partly paid invoice.
- Click the Payment link.
- If the payment is for:
- An individual invoice, click Options, then select Send Receipt.
- A batch deposit, click Send Receipt.
- Enter or edit information in the Send Receipt window for the individual payment or batch deposit.
- (Optional) Select the Send me a copy checkbox if you’d also like a copy of the receipt.
- Click Send.
If you have multiple invoices in a batch deposit for a customer, they'll receive one PDF receipt showing all payments received.
The receipt will display additional information if relevant:
- Credit notes
- Prepayments and overpayments (if they're applied to an invoice)
- Other payments applied
