UT Southwestern, in partnership with Texas Health Resources, local organizations, and community leaders, is leading groundbreaking research to understand the spread of the novel coronavirus: the DFW COVID-19 Prevalence Study. UT Southwestern is recruiting about 45,000 residents of Dallas and Tarrant counties to receive free testing for the virus that causes COVID-19, as well as testing for antibodies against the virus. The Study will help develop effective and fair public health strategies to reduce any further deaths related to this disease. How to get help if you’re facing eviction in the Dallas area – Renters facing eviction in North Texas who have lost their job due to the pandemic have certain protections that not everyone is aware of. A national eviction moratorium was implemented in September by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which provides protection until December 21 if renters meet certain income requirements and provide signed declarations to their landlord. A city COVID-19 eviction ordinance also gives tenants more time to make arrangements to pay rent.
