Bluegrass music free mp3 download

So I recently finished recording a whole album (15 songs) with some friends I've been playing with over the past year and a half or so. It's about 95% original bluegrass gospel music (with 3 covers) and 4 original instrumentals, and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. Seeing as we recorded it all ourselves without spending much of anything on it, I only felt right about putting it online for free. It's up at http://onestepcloserband.bandcamp.com/ for listening/download if anyone's interested... Scott was kind enough to put my instrumental Monterey Jack on the MP3 page as well. I hope someone finds it enjoyable!

Nice nice job! I didn't listen to every second but sampled everything on the album. I really enjoyed Days of Elijah as well. It's one that I am already familiar with, but I'm used to hearing full choir and orchestra, very different than a bluegrass arrangement. Yet it worked perfectly as a bluegrass arrangement, and if I didn't know the song already, I would have just assumed that was a song written for the BG genre. I enjoy being challenged to think outside the box to find decidedly non-BG songs to give a BG treatment to. Thanks for posting!

Days of Elijah is one of our favorite tunes as well... we were all familiar with the original Robin Mark version but had never thought to do it bluegrass until one day one of the guitar players was late and we were just playing through songs in a book. Once we played it bluegrass it just worked so well (in B nonetheless!) that we all fell in love with playing it that way!

Most of the rest of the tunes were all written by the banjo player Frank or guitar player/singer Chris. Chris wrote Long Has It Been, I'll ask him if we wouldn't mind me posting the lyrics/chords up here as asked. Jonny I'll also let Frank know you enjoyed his playing, we all do as well! Thanks for the kind words!
