The #Minecraft developers recently announced the migration of all official #Minecraft accounts to the Microsoft identity platform. Gaming sites and social networks have started to generate all sorts of distorted information — this happens when people do not understand the issue. We will explain what it’s all about in the form of an FAQ.
- Microsoft is notorious for the incorporation of its services to all purchased software (for example, Skyp...e), so that’s not a big surprise. In the mobile version of Minecraft, there is already Xbox Live for a long time (without a burst of indignation in this regard).
- How will the authorization work, including in TLauncher?
- With a high degree of certainty, we can say that there will be the Xbox Live authorization as in Bedrock Edition. Once, Minecraft accounts already migrated from the Mojang site to the game’s official site, so the procedure will be the same — updating the launcher to ensure a new kind of authorization for official accounts.
- What will happen to the TLauncher.org accounts, and what to do without accounts?
- Nothing changes — everything stays in place.
- When will the migration to the new system be accomplished?
- In 2021 (full migration), which means there will be many versions, and we will test everything before the final migration.
P.S. There will be another change, namely, many "purchased" accounts from third-party sites without access to the mail will stop working after the full migration in 2021, which means that accounts will become more expensive, while we — even more popular 😉.
