Horsehead Nebula by Luca Fornaciari with #ASI294MM Pro. "I started ...doing astrophotography because I wanted more than anything else to be able to photograph the Horsehead Nebula, a panorama of our galaxy that has always fascinated me a lot. This year I inaugurated the start of the winter sky photography by dedicating myself to this area, shooting for 6 nights (spread over 12 days) and making a total of almost 34 hours of photographs. The image you see probably comes close enough to the limits of transparency of my sky, it is not a comparable image to those who have the possibility of doing long sessions from dark skies, but I am satisfied. The luminance base was made by integrating just under 24 hours of H-Alpha and Oiii, with an HDR session in H-Alpha to recover the stellar cores of Alnitak and other brighter stars. I then spent two nights on broadband acquisition with single RGB filters, reaching a total of about 34 hours of selected images. The development of Ha:Oiii:RGB was not short, but with a lot of patience I arrived at a result that seems quite balanced (in the album you can find the bicolor image Ha:Oiii and the single channel Ha, published during the various phases acquisition).
